I’m Kelly Butler, Former Headteacher, ILM leadership coach and early years consultant. My experience ranges from school development, curriculum mapping, supporting leaders at all levels and coaching a range of professional to support individuals and teams in realising their goals. I am also a former HMI inspector of schools. To follow my passion for supporting schools and early years, I now work with setting and schools nationwide.

Early Years Consultant & Leadership Coach

Little bit about me

First and foremost, I have been a primary school teacher for over 24 years. Starting my career as an Early Year’s Teacher, moving on to Early Years Lead, progressing to Advanced Skills Teacher, then Assistant Headteacher for early years. Five years as a Deputy Head of a large inner city primary school and most recently a Headteacher for seven years of an infant school. I so lead Ofsted inspections as a former HMI (Schools) and now a lead Ofsted inspector.

My Why!

I am passionate about early childhood learning and development and how I can best support settings to deliver high quality play based learning and provision, which is inclusive of the needs of all children. I believe that every child has the right to be a ‘child’ and experience an early education which is based on how children learn, grow and develop.

I would like to support you and your setting to be brave and bold, for you to be led by research about how children learn. For this to be the vehicle in which you deliver your curriculum and still maintain strong outcomes. It is truly possible… I’ve done it!

My passion for leadership led me to become a qulified leadership coach, I now coach a range of leaders, within and also outside education. As a Headteacter, I wouldn’t have been without a coach. The headspace and opportunity to develop the skills needed as a leader was the most valuable part of my personnel and professional development. I offer both 1-1 and group leadership coaching sessions. I person or virtually. Making coaching accessible to anyone, anywhere.

This website will provide practitioners with support and ideas to enhance your settings, in the hope I can make a small difference and inspire you. I will share resource ideas, book reviews and podcasts, to help you along the way. This will include my 4 P’s!
